World Milk Day – 1st June

Middle Farm | Sussex Open Farm and Farm Shop

World Milk Day – Sunday 1st June

Middle Farms roots are in dairy farming (as well as chickens many years ago) and a lot of our customers and even team members remember coming along to visit the Open Farm and watch our jersey cows being milked in the milking parlour. Some may even have met William one of our previous herdsman.

This milk was then bottled here on site by trained team members of the Farm Shop and it was then sold to our customers.
Our raw milk was extremely popular as it’s well known for its health benefits.

Although we now no longer have our jersey herd (they didn’t go far – only 10 minutes down the road to join another local farm) we proudly support all dairy farmers alongside World Milk Day which unites countries, organizations, and communities to recognize and amplify the dairy sector’s impact on sustainable agriculture, economic development, and global health.

In our Farm Shop you can buy milk daily from our local suppliers @northiamdairy as well as pasteurised organic milk which is non-homogenised from Goodwood Dairy in West Sussex.
