Join Us For A Fun Spooky Time On The Farm This Half Term
This half term (23rd-31st October), you and the family are invited to join us for a spellbinding week at Middle Farm to celebrate the magical change of autumn – and, of course, the arrival of the spookiest season on the calendar.
You’ll discover an enchantingly adorned wonderland, decorated with tiny mushrooms, flying playing cards, fairy houses and lots more. Alongside our regular Open Farm timetable, we’re putting on extra fun events for the whole family to enjoy.
Magical Crafts & Wand Making in the Animal Barn
Cosied up inside the animal barn, immerse yourself in the vast array of crafting materials. Our lovely team will be hosting wand making sessions to creative crafts that bring your imagination to life. This one isn’t just for the children – bring along your inner-child and see where your creativity takes you!
Did you know that the world’s largest pumpkin was grown in Belgium in 2016, weighing 1.2 tonnes? Cinderella would be proud – that’s the size and weight of a generously spaced horse carriage.
Weirdly wonderful pumpkin trivia aside, we’ll be hosting our own pumpkin carving sessions this year at 1pm every day. We supply the pumpkins and tools you need, just bring yourselves.
The Friendly Spooky Farm Trail
October naturally lends itself to a little spooky fun with Halloween on the 31st. To celebrate, we have a friendly spooky farm trail. Bring the family together to find the different characters hidden around along the trail… Clara the witch, Midnight the cat, Boo the ghost and others. The children will receive a sticker prize for their hard work.
All of this, including access to the normal Open Farm animal sessions, meet and greets and feeding, will be available at the price of a regular ticket.
Even better, the price includes access to Middle Farm for the entire day…
That means you can spend the day leisurely exploring our Farm Shop full to the rafters with locally sourced fresh produce and a huge array of cheeses, our picturesque Gift Shop brimming with thoughtful gift ideas, our ever-evolving range of ciders and perries in our unique Cider Barn and our additive-free meat and poultry, including home-produced, grass-fed beef (hung for up to 60 days) in our traditional Butcher’s Shop.
Relax with a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of homemade cake, or savour our hot locally made pasties in our Tearoom. (Tasty and healthy menu options available for children too). Explore our indoor hay playbarn, outside play area, and of course, see all of our delightful farm animals (rabbits, llamas, pigs, sheep, goats, rheas, ducks and so much more).
We look forward to seeing you here for an enchanting day over the Half Term.
